Topic: PMP Exam Certification Study Notes

Listed below are my notes for what topics and areas to study for the NEW PMP Exam for 2021.

Areas to Study for the NEW PMP Exam

You must master three (3) Domains:
(1) People (42%)
(2) Process (50%)
(3) Business Environment (8%)

Agile and Waterfall approaches will be asked throughout the three domains above, and are not specific to one domain.
– Make sure to reference PMI’s Exam Content Outline here.

What are the biggest changes to the NEW 2021 PMP Exam?

The NEW 2021 PMP Exam has an added focus on soft skills, emotional intelligence, managing people, and conflict management.

The BIGGEST CHANGE is the Agile perspective.

**Remember 50% of your exam will be based off of Agile practices, and the other half will be based off of Predictive/Waterfall practices.
Business = 8% of NEW PMP Exam (Interaction with Organization Skills)

Other Notes
1. Although there are only three domains, the PMBOK 6th Edition covers all areas. It is simply no longer categorized under the 5 Groups of Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitor & Control, and Closing

2. From the PMBOK 6th Edition, you’ll want to pay closer attention to the sections on the “Considerations for Agile/Adaptive Environments”
